Purim in my sights ...

I know it's been ages since I've written anything substantial, but ...

I've just returned home with four meters (or metres) of glittery red, slightly see-through (!)material and a corset.

I have only a vague idea of what it's going to be, but one thing's for sure. It's going to be fabulous. Oh, and red.

Gotta love Purim!

I dread the annual Purim Sweatshop (tm), but I can't wait to see what you put together. :)

Whoa! Do people really where outfits like that on Purim? Maybe I should visit at that time.

Is Purim like a bank holiday or something?

Enlighten us Gentiles would you?

Jennifer - I dread it too. Believe me, there are few things more daunting than the combination of too much material, not enough sewing skills and a night on platform stillettos. However, soldier on, we must. I don't promise to put up photos here, but if it warrants it, there might be a colorful description in store. Stay tuned!

Abu Salam - define "people", please :) Apart from that, you'll just have to come and see for yourself, won't you?

Bullfighter - not a bank holiday, as such. Commerce continues, but you do see lots of costumes around on Purim day. If I'm not supine, I might take my camera out and photograph some of it. It's sort of a Jewish Halloween (although it predates Halloween, of course). I'll write a post about the festival if I have a chance (not looking likely, but for you, I'll try).
