Proud to be Haredi?

This is starting to get insane.

Not to mention this!!

Just in case anyone thought that Islam had some sort of monopoly on religious violence ...

That's absolutely horrifying, but unfortunately, it doesn't come as a big surprise. These people who purport to be pious, religious individuals have no qualms about using threats and violence to achieve their goals (I was once on the receiving end of a veiled threat because I was wearing a sleeve-less outfit on an Egged bus with lots of Haredi passengers - I was sitting in front by the driver, and he didn't say a damn thing!). If you plan to participate in the parade, please, please, please be careful. I'm afraid things are going to be very ugly.

I don't understand - why aren't they arresting all these Haredi Rabbis and leaders who are openly inciting violence? What are they waiting for? How many people have to die first? Certainly nothing was learned from Rabin's murder. How many dead marchers do we need before inciting to terrorism and murder becomes a crime with actual consequences in this country?

Hey people,

bullfighter - I doubt it, not so much because of this. I have many other reasons as well. But I have to say that I also simply do not trust these people not to be violent on the day. And I don't intend to be the one they prove it on.

Liza - It doesn't surprise me either, unfortunately. In fact, quite the opposite. I have learned to expect nothing less.

Udge - Indeed. And oh so bad ...

Tif - you're right. We seem, as a country, to have learned nothing.
